Five ways to Start your Morning off Right with Nina LaBruna

Whether you’re a morning person or a night owl, the way you begin your day determines how the rest of it will go. The little things we do at the very beginning of the day have a bigger impact on the rest of the day than we think. I sat down with Nina LaBruna, owner of LaBruna Skincare, to learn her tips and tricks for starting the day off on the right foot. She gave me her five easy hacks to have the most productive morning routine. 


Tip one: Make your bed

This starts your day off in an organized and productive way. The small task of making your bed helps keep the rest of your day moving along in the right direction. 


Tip two: Take a 5-10 minute wakeup stretch 

Usually I do downward facing dog, twists, side body stretches and hip openers like figure four or pigeon and I end by closing my eyes and taking a few deep breaths to center myself and feel more energized. 


Tip three: Don’t skip breakfast

It’s important to have a lot to drink - I either have juiced veggies or just a large glass of water with squeezed lemon. To eat I usually make oatmeal with berries and nuts, avocado toast with an egg, or granola with nut yogurt. All easy to make and very yummy!


Tip four: Make a to-do list of the tasks you want to accomplish that day

Taking a few minutes to write down the important tasks that I want to accomplish during the day helps me stay organized and focused. I find that having small goals set for the day helps me stay on target.  


Tip five: Of course…skincare! 

My favorite part of my morning is doing my skincare routine. Starting the morning off with a fresh, clean face gives me confidence as I move throughout my day. I always begin my morning skincare routine with my Moringa Facial Cleanser followed by my toner, occasionally exfoliator, the Renewal Smoothing Serum my Nourishing Face Oil and finally the Tinted Sunscreen.


Sometimes it's hard to be productive while gearing up for the day ahead of you, but adding these tricks to your morning routine may help put you in a positive mindset and set your day up on the right track!
